History of Caledonia Community Centre

The Caledonia Community Centre was built in 1977 thanks to the vision and hard work of numerous volunteers, members of the Caledonia Township Council, and financial support from the provincial government.  The community centre will turn 40 in 2017. Celebrations are being planned to mark this milestone.

Celebrating 40 years in 2017

Forty years ago, envisioning a prosperous and healthy future for our community, people joined forces and rolled up their sleeves to build Caledonia Community Centre.  This major feat was accomplished through cooperation, community spirit and the help of volunteers from all generations. Kids, parents and grand-parents cycled to raise funds; men and students spent the summer on the construction site and women organized suppers and activities.

The hall quickly became the pride of the whole community. Caledonia Community Centre is known as the best location to hold wedding parties and anniversaries, after funeral gatherings, winter carnivals, Halloween parties, danses, community events, galas, business meetings, conferences and more.

On Sunday May 21, 2017, hundreds of people gathered to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the hall during a community brunch.
